‘For A Moment There I Thought We Were In Trouble’

There was a thing going around on social about naming a movie that was released the year you were born. Having decided I’d narrow things down to my actual birth month for the sake of as much temporal accuracy as possible, that meant that I was, and am, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid years old.

(Yes, for real I was going on hiatus due to technical difficulties. In the end that mostly was because they landed in the midst of the aftermath of my birthday, which every single year is maybe my most dysregulated time, and I just didn’t have the bandwidth in the moment to even think about continuing to be here blogging away. So, it wasn’t a ploy for attention. It was a legit psychological surrender that I got over once I’d had the chance to calm down.)

Anyway, all things considered lately, especially if you read through the existential miasma of my birthday posts, I can’t help but notice that I’m the same age as a movie where the protagonists have no choice but to hurl themselves into certain death.

  1. Proving once again what tremendous value is provided to us by generative A.I., the “Overview” tool on Google is telling people the following:

“For a moment there I thought we were in trouble” is a famous line from the movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” typically spoken by the character Butch Cassidy to express relief after a close call or a seemingly dangerous situation that turned out alright.
