Just a brief note that things might or might not go quiet here for a bit because I read this Kev Quirk post about moving to Kirby, and I’m spending some time looking into it. WordPress hates the web, and the bloat under the “view source” hood is ridiculous.
To be clear: I can’t actually afford Kirby, but I want to see how easy or hard it would be for me to replicate this site. I’ve already designed the underlying HTML template and it looks great.
It’s possible, alternatively, that I’ll try disabling Gutenberg and all this blocks nonsense and try cobbling together an old-school WordPress theme, which at least I’ve had some experience with.
Anyway, we’ll see how it goes, but I’m starting to get pretty absorbed by looking into Kirby, so I might not have the motivation to actually post anything for a bit. Unless the spirit moves.
