I agree with Willamette Week: it sure looks like a flurry of actions by others—think Oregon’s universities and the NBA—finally forced Governor Brown’s hand on social distancing to fight the spread of SARS-Cov-2.
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown tonight banned large gatherings in Oregon, cancelled all school athletic events, and advised as many people as possible to avoid in-person work meetings, to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
According to The Oregonian, Brown also announced testing changes including allowing “doctors at clinics [to] order tests from commercial laboratories at their discretion, without state authorization”.
