It’s not my typical circumstance, having past events set off anxiety attacks or potential meltdown/shutdown situations, but I was still struck by this passage in The Deep by by Rivers Solomon, Daveed Diggs, William Hutson, and Jonathan Snipes.
Whenever an event triggered a remembering, they spoke those words. “It is done.”
So, it’s not of much use to me as, I guess, a mantra of sorts, but I did wonder whether or not anyone else would find it of such use. Also, the book is worth reading; it’s sort of an argument for sharing the burden of trauma?
